Back in March, I put a motion to Inner West Council for a report on WestConnex noise and air quality monitoring. That report's now come back and will be tabled at our meeting tonight, and I'm planning to propose the following actions.

There's been a lot of discussion about the fine handed down by Inner West Council to the Addison Road Community Centre (ARCCO) after a recent Vegan Market breached ARCCO's development consent. I'll be tabling the following motion at the next Inner West Council meeting on Tuesday 13 March following requests made by residents and community groups for Council to conduct its own noise and air quality monitoring of the WestConnex projects.

Last week, I met with the Deputy Premier of NSW, John Barilaro, to explain why our residents are so concerned with the scale of development planned for our inner west, and specifically, the lack of open and green space we’re seeing in these proposals.

One of the most common reasons residents contact me at Inner West Council is to raise concerns about a proposed development application or DA in their neighbourhood. And while I’m always happy to help, many people are surprised when I tell them that, thanks to recent changes made by the NSW Government, Councillors now have very little say over whether a DA is approved or not.

In December 2017, I met with senior officials from Department of Planning and Environment to discuss ongoing issues residents have been experiencing with WestCONnex, including issues with breaches of construction conditions, noise mitigation, and concern about the Stage 3 EIS being approved based on an ill-defined "concept" design.

On New Year's Eve 2017, I took a look back at the year that was in the Inner West.
