INNER West Council candidate Pauline Lockie will run for Stanmore ward with a team of community-led independents to give voters a powerful alternative to the major parties, and bring accountability and transparency to local government.

Like many Inner West residents, Pauline was appalled by the way our councils were swept aside by the NSW Government after our Liberal and Labor former Councillors defied our community’s wishes to help push the merger through.

INDEPENDENT candidates in the Inner West Council election have slammed Premier Gladys Berejiklian's failure to unwind the unpopular merger of Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville councils after she announced today that the mergers of 14 Sydney councils would not go ahead.

In her campaign launch speech - which was filmed by and posted to Facebook with an amazing endorsement by City of Sydney councillor Jess Miller - Pauline explained why she decided to run for Inner West Council as an Independent.
